If you previewed a workout in Zing Coach and noticed that it looks different when you’re ready to start—such as a different workout type or duration—you’re not alone! This is a normal part of how Zing adapts to your progress and ensures your plan stays effective and safe.
Why Your Workout May Have Changed
Zing Coach uses smart technology to dynamically adjust your workout plan based on your recent activity and recovery needs. This ensures you're training safely and getting the most out of each session.
Here are a few reasons your scheduled workout might look different:
1. New Activity Was Logged
If you completed an activity (inside or outside the app) that Zing Coach tracked, your upcoming workout might shift to reflect your updated fitness load.
Example: You previewed a Lower Body workout yesterday, but then went on a long hike today. Zing may recognize that your legs need recovery and update your plan to an Upper Body or Recovery workout instead.
2. Changes in Muscle Freshness
Zing continuously evaluates your muscle recovery status. If a muscle group is too fatigued (e.g., under 70% recovered), Zing will reschedule or replace workouts to avoid overtraining.
3. Adaptive Personalization
Zing tailors your workouts based on your real-time fitness data, not a static schedule. That means your plan is always aligned with your current fitness state, energy, and performance needs.
What Should You Do?
Nothing! Trust that your Zing Coach is making these adjustments to help you train smarter and avoid injury. But if you still prefer to do the original workout you previewed:
-
Tap Custom Workout from your Workout tab.
-
Manually build a workout with your preferred focus, duration, and intensity.
You’re always in control—but Zing is here to guide you in the healthiest direction possible.
